Tina Brown has a plan to facilitate an easy transition to renewables and meeting achievable emissions reductions targets
Tina’s Policy has three key sections

Summary
Tina Brown supports the Climate Change Authority’s ambitious but achievable emissions target of 65-75% reduction by 2035, and she calls on the ALP to announce their 2035 targets before the election.
Tina supports an orderly transition away from massive fossil fuel subsidies in favour of incentives for green industries and green manufacturing.
Tina supports federal subsidies to assist householders and small businesses to electrify and to share in the benefits of the 21st-century economy.
Section 1: Emissions Reduction
- Tina Brown supports the Climate Change Authority’s call for a 75% reduction on the 2005 levels by 2035.
- Push for no new or expanded coal or gas projects to be approved.
- Sectoral pathways. Tina Brown will pressure the Government to follow the recommendations of the Sector Pathways Review 2024 on how to effectively decarbonise the economy.
- Phase out Fossil Fuel Subsidies.
- Transparency in the impact of government budgets on the climate.
- A fair go for workers in the fossil fuel industries. Support bodies such as the Hunter Jobs Alliance in securing a just transition to new industries for fossil fuel workers.
- Developing Australian manufacturing for the emerging new economy. Supporting the Future Made in Australia project and work to secure jobs in the electorate of Berowra.
Section 2: Electrification of homes and businesses
- Tina Brown calls for a federal subsidy of at least 30% on installation of new household batteries.
- Flexible federal scheme of interest-free loans to help households electrify according to their needs (e.g. solar panels, heat pumps, efficient appliances, batteries, removing gas, EV purchase)
- Financial incentives for landlords who install Solar on rental properties.
- Mandatory minimum Energy performance standards for rental properties.
- Support and upscale the electrification and energy efficiency of social housing ,and extend them to others living with energy poverty.
- Safeguarding the sustainability of large new developments in the Berowra electorate.
- Solar in apartments: assistance to strata bodies to help them navigate the complexities of electrifying apartments.
Section 3: Electrification of transport
- Tina Brown recommends a suite of policies (e.g. rebates, interest-free loans, business tax concessions, stamp duty exemptions and registration subsidies) that support uptake of BEVs for consumers, including tradespeople and small business owners.
- Small funded trials of vehicle-to-grid charging.
- Tina Brown advocates for the electrification of buses in the Berowra Electorate.
- Support the electrification of ride-share vehicles.
- Support the development of the second-hand EV market by introducing mandatory targets for Government departments to electrify their fleets and develop incentive schemes for business to electrify their fleet.
- Support and facilitate EV infrastructure in apartment blocks. Introduce $2000 incentives for installation of EV charging at multi-unit buildings.
