Save our Pennant Hills Post Office
Our Pennant Hills Post Office—a vital local service to our community—is under threat. Hornsby Shire Council has put forward a development application to turn it into a Korean BBQ restaurant. This decision was made without warning and without consulting the very people who depend on it every day.
For our elderly residents, small business owners, and local families, the post office is more than just a place to send mail. With so many banks in the area already shut down, it has become the lifeline for those who rely on face-to-face banking services and essential postal support. If this post office closes, what will these people do?
Council has given the community just two weeks—an unfairly short period—to raise objections. Worse still, even the locally employed post office staff had no idea this was coming. It begs the question, why do we continue to vote for a Liberal lead council if they continue to act without our community and our small businesses in mind?
We won’t stand by and let this happen. as your Community Independent for Berowra, I need you to join me in the fight to keep our post office alive. We need to show Council and the Federal Government that we won’t let our local vital services be taken away for profit.
We seek the following actions:
- Cancel or suspend the development application to close the Pennant Hills Post Office.
- Extend the objection period to allow for proper consultation with our community.
- Work with us to find real solutions—including transitioning the post office into a franchise operated in partnership with the local newsagent, a solution already supported by local businesses.
Our post office is a cornerstone of community life. We need your voice to protect it. Sign the petition today and join Tina in the fight to save our post office.
