Liberal politicians at all levels are ignoring resident concerns in favour of developing Dural in their own interests. On Monday night the Dural Round Corner proposal meeting took place without any elected officials in attendance.
Tina Brown was in attendance at the Dural Round Corner on Monday 31 March where over 300 residents and concerned community members gathered to make their voice heard. The sentiment is clear, people chose Dural to be their home because it’s rural; Now the Council and developers are running riot over the hopes of the locals.
At State level the significant development of the Northwest corridor over the years (oversighted by Liberal and Labor State governments) has created a massive ripple effect throughout these Hills areas, exacerbated by the new Metro that brings more population and commuter parking without planning for traffic management, other community facilities eg. medical and amenity.
Federal Liberal MPs remain silent about these impacts. Local communities are taken for granted and have no real voice. This is happening right now in the safe Liberal seat of Berowra at Round Corner Dural. Only electing a community independent Tina Brown can shake it up! Here’s your chance to have your say!
The proposed Round Corner Dural development highlights the problem: commercial interests getting together, local residents being provided with a plan that’s been prepared before listening to them, elected representatives going missing in action, and no one taken up the community concerns with relevant government agencies at all three levels of government.
No one is listening to resident concerns.
The excuse is that the “mish mash” of development will continue anyway so let’s do a massive project that will eventually force the widening of roads etc. It’s the classic top-down approach that uses the need for more urban development to throw everything else under the bus. Every neighbourhood is to be impacted: Glenhaven, Dural, Kenthurst, Annangrove, Galston, Glenorie, Arcadia not to mention the traffic ripple effect on Cherrybrook, West Pennant Hills, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh, Beecroft, Cheltenham and Epping.
The Federal MP for Berowra is nowhere to be seen, despite the concerns raised by his constituents.
Tina Brown is making a commitment to facilitate and convene discussion between local residents, community interests and each level of Government to address Round Corner Dural. As a community independent she is not influenced by vested interests. She is there to represent the people, listen to and understand your voice and take this forward.
You won’t get a hearing unless you change the way you vote.
